In the Settings you configure aspects like user credentials or logging level.

Select Plugins > FSCharter > Settings from X-Plane's menu to open the Settings window:

Field

Default

Description

E-Mail address

-

E-Mail address of your FSCharter login.

Password

-

Password of your FSCharter login.

Note 1: Your login credentials must match the selected environment.

Note 2: You can paste from the clipboard using [Strg-V] resp. [Cmd-V] on Macs.

Save password...

Off

If enabled, your password is stored in encoded (but not encrypted) form in the plugin's settings (Output/preferences/FSCharter.prf) and the plugin can login automatically to the FSCharter platform.

If disabled you need to enter your password at every start and click [Login].

Open 'Select Aircraft Window' on startup

On

If enabled and if the login password is saved, then the plugin will present you with the Select Aircraft Window right away at startup. If enabled, but the login password is not saved / known, then this Settings window will open so that you can login.

If disabled, then you have to open the window yourself via menu or assigned keyboard shortcut.

Clicking this button will use the provided credentials for logging in at FSCharter. On success, the Select Aircraft Window is opened so you can continue with selecting an aircraft.

Environment

Select the FSCharter environment to connect to:

Options for current X-Plane Aircraft

The options in this sections are set for the aircraft currently loaded in X-Plane. Some 3rd party aircraft don't play well together with how the FSCharter plugin sets exact position, fuel, and/or payload. Here you can disable these per aircraft. It is saved per aircraft and applied per aircraft at the moment you select an aircraft.

Option

Default

Description

Set exact location

On

When selecting an FSC aircraft your X-Plane aircraft will be placed at the exact location it ended its previous flight, heading in the same direction. This is called "persistent location".

If this is off and your X-Plane aircraft is at the wrong airport when you select an FSC aircraft, then your plane will only be positioned at a default position of the correct airport using standard X-Plane functionality.

Set total fuel amount

On

When selecting an FSC aircraft, boarding, or synching fuel, the FSC plugin will try to set the fuel amount in your X-Plane aircraft according to the fuel amount recorded on FSCharter, distributed evenly across all tanks.

If this is off then the plugin will not set fuel at all.

Set payload

On

When selecting an FSC aircraft or boarding, the FSC plugin will try to set the payload accordingly (considering the pilot, too!). It can only set the total payload. It cannot influence any 3rd party-specific passenger distribution and it will not touch centre of gravity.

If this is off then the plugin will not set payload at all.

Allow boarding/disembark with engines on

Off

Allows boarding and disembarking if engines are on. Meant for seaplanes or bush planes, if parking brake detection is difficult or pax regularly board/disembark while engines are on.

If this is on, then all boarding/fueling activities are possible while the engines are running. But the plane still needs to have zero speed. For disembarking, a [Disembark] button is available in the Status windows. There is also a menu item "Disembark", which can be assigned to a keyboard shortcut or joystick button.

If this is off, then boarding/disembarking happens only if parking brake is set and engines are off.

If your X-Plane aircraft behaves incorrectly in combination with FSCharter, then you can disable some of the above options to find out what is causing the misbehaviour. Please read here more about these procedures.

Miscellaneous

Field

Default

Description

Display fuel amount in

kg, t

Fuel is internally handled in kg (and displayed in metric tons if greater than 1,000 kg), but it can be displayed converted to US Pound (lb), or approximately converted to Liter (l) and US Gallon (gal).

Warning: The conversion to volumetric units (Liter, Gallon) are approximations only using a standard density of Jet A-1 fuel at 15°C.

Logging / Pop-up Messages

Logging helps you to understand what the plugin is doing. And it is crucial for error analysis. All X-Plane developers will request the Log.txt file in case of support requests or bug reports.

Field

Default

Description

...written to Log.txt

Warnings

Selects the amount of information written to X-Plane's standard Log.txt file in X-Plane's root directory. The amount of information increases from left to right.

Less than Warning is not recommended.

In Beta versions of the plugin, the default is Debug, as Beta testers shall provide full information with every issue report.

...shown in pop-up messages

Information

Selects the amount of information shown in pop-up / banner messages at the top of X-Plane's main screen. Only few messages are shown there at all. This setting allows to further reduce their amount.

Log raw network data...

Off

If activated, a second log file FSCRawNetw.log is written into X-Plane's root directory, which logs each network message sent to / received from FSCharter. This can be helpful in case of error analysis. The file is refreshed with every start of X-Plane, just like Log.txt.

In Beta versions of the plugin, the default is On, as Beta testers shall provide full information with every issue report.
